Mandarin At The Library

Filed under: Uncategorized — ktetaichinh @ 9:36 am

Your local library may offer Mandarin lessons through the Internet. Mango Languages, a company based in Michigan, has provided access to its online language labs through libraries in the USA and Canada.

Mandarin Chinese is one of their choices, along with Japanese, Portuguese, Spanish, French, German, Italian, Greek and Russian. Demo lessons can be found on the Mango website.

The lessons appear to be fairly standard, repetition-based drills, with audio clips and English explanations. Lesson one gives a good foundation in greetings and introductions. The controlled repetition ensures that you are practicing previously learned material at regular intervals.

Mango seems to be a quality product using a tried-and-true method of language acquisition. Check out your local library to see if it’s available.
